Some thoughts while driving in the snow today

Some say

• In Finland, you need to pass a drifting test to get a car licence. In the midwest, you need to pass a drifting test to get to work.

• When the temperature is cold enough, Iron Man flys through Iowa to run testings on his suit's de-icing feature.

• If you haven't seen Iron Man in Iowa before, you weren't unlucky, but Iron Man felt cold la. He's at home watching American Idol.

• I need to improvise my job description by adding "Requires very responsive and quick coordination while driving during winter. Preference: 85% or higher in Guitar Hero Expert Level."

• The roads....... cuak la.

• Snow storm in Iowa is similiar to waiting for Chloe for 2 hours. It's 5% of wtf, 95% of aiyah sien la always liddat 1.

• OC is considering a new Toyota highlander, so during winter when the lakes are frozen, we can still lan yeng on the boat while its being towed by his 4WD.

How far are we now? Technology, transportation, manufacturing, education, wireless, etc. We are rocket high far I think. That's due to our rocket high abilities. We started everything by our own hands.

How fast are we? All it takes is an individual. or a few, or a whole lot more, to come up with something new. We're constantly making decisions. We're constantly thinking. The amount of people living in this planet now, decides how fast change is taking place every second, I think.

It's huge now, and we're going fast. The question is, where. Correct or wrong, white or black, or grey. Is our planet getting better in shape, or going side ways. Whatever happens, we're to blamed. It was our decision to choose where, most of the time based on attractive incentives like $$$$$.

I am an Industrial Engineer Junior with Bridgestone-Firestone Inc.

This job will make me richer but I'll not work for the money.

Luck has been on my side, and I'm deeply grateful by the opportunities.

I am no longer a college kid.

I started my year by playing guitar hero from 12am till 9am! haha.. It's my 1st time and I got so addicted to it, so as everybody else! Thanks Alex for bringing the equipments and for rocking the beginning of the year. and omg there was this random guy with us that was sooo annoying, kept barking like a dog at random people and random things. Guess what, kena diu by Alex Tew! Priceless rite hahaha!

2010:

1. Be optimistic: Replace last with more. This is my last day of 2009, I have 1 more day of 2009.
2. More fruits. More gym. More snowboarding. More readings.

QE Co-op week 25

Started 1st of June this year, it's so far my longest stay in the same company. Although there's only few weeks left till completion, I am actually looking forward to meet the day liao, the last day to be treated as a student in a workplace.

Proactive is the word I'm striving for in my current job position, as a co-op. I want to seek solution, not told. I want to identify the department's needs by getting involved enough to act like part of the team. There's no need for procedure or template or usually what you should do next. We engineers know our roles.

Apart from that, I gotta say I benefited a lot from this job laaa. It feels like a playground sometimes, I have time to try different approaches in a project. I built a mini assembly line that's expandable! I also tried using plasticine to measure height, turned out to be feasible!

I have a "stimulus plan" that will be proposed tomorrow. It's the same concept as the economy stimulus plan, same theory as advertisement. This plan might revolutionize the measuring phase of major defective issues. Instead of always tracking and looking for root cause (often fail because dam sien), this will show us what we want to see, time, place, and a short clip, in a few mouse clicks. It's gonna be difficult to be approved, when everyone's talking about cost reduction and lean, and my idea will increase cost per unit equivalent, plus some cost to induce technology. Cost & quality = Siti & Alex Tew. This however is a short term thing, a stimulus cost. I have 5 more weeks, we'll see how it goes la.
