Big Creek 2009

Yea I was being unprofessional today at work because I was very lazy because my brain had hangover from the boating trip my brain kept thinking of the boat and flippie floppies and flips and peanut butter.

I made some wallpapers for my lappie toppies. The colors are so sharp and nice! Click to enlarge. And here we go babeh~

Bear, the. Look at them shadows and the light contrast on the bear skin. My fav.

Big jetty Creek jump!

Photosynthesis. A process that converts Angus beef into stomach belly, using energy from the sexiness of the hair grown on the surface of a sexy belly.

Persistence. If there's no struggle, there's no female bears next mating season.

"Eh! Classes start on Monday!", OC and friends swimming towards a boat.

3 years of United States

Today is a special day for me - I survived exactly 3 years in the United States woohoo!

Looking back through the 3 years I've spent in the States, gosh there's a lot to be mentioned. Met many many people, learned a lot from my IE courses, exposed to unbelievable dramatic situations, ate a lot of burgers, etc etc..

Adjusting to the environment and life style here wasn't as hard as I expected. Thanks to them, my close loops of friends were among the Malaysians that were here for the same reason, same experience, and as uncomfort at the beginning. I always believe we have a bond that'll keep us taking care of each other and try to optimize comfortability in this uncomfort zone. I'm fortunate in my 1st semester to have helpful seniors, helpful sister, and most importantly getting to know ZT & OC. Thanks again la, for the full 3years of laughters!

Throughout the years, I tried my very best to look after dudes from the same kampung too. Countless activites, outings, parties, and performances were planned and carried out. Outcome were always priceless, 'and then lets do it again'.

I've performed a lot in this 3 years. Started as a noob singer on my 1st grad night (kept drinking water oni), followed by Hip Hop with DubH, lion dance, MCN, grad nights, we even performed at some random business conference room in Gerdin. In fact I think I've performed more than anybody else I know in Ames. Well not because I'm talented or what, but I just enjoy the feeling very much, and I always try to influence my friends to perform with me. I still can't believe I actually choreographed a Malay and an Indian dance haha..

Career standpoint, I feel very lucky and satisfied. Had 3 different internships with international corporations, projects with 3 other companies, and tours to more than 10 manufacturing plants, I've gained very valueble experience in my field of interest. I'll continue to work hard for more exposures, more problems to solve, more $$$ of course, and more $$$. Yes I like $$$. If I take my net earnings from engineering jobs in US divided by the total tuition fees I've spent in US, I can say I'm half way meeting the break even point of my study trip investment in US. I am very looking for the day I meet this break even point.

"If you wanna feel rich, just count the things you have that money can't buy"

All in all, meet or don't meet break even point doesn't matter at all if you don't feel rich. Throughout the 3 years, there's way more ups than downs, I'm very glad about it. I can't tell how many more years I have in the States, but I do hope for the best. Best for you too!

A good 3 years indeed.

Tonight there might be meteors, if I spotted some I wanna pray for you ok! :)

23 years old wish

Finally I'm blogging yay! Today is my birthday and I feel happy about it, I always do. I enjoy receiving wishes and hear from friends and relatives that I hardly talk to nowadays. I treasure all the friendships I've made in my life, as early as those neighbours cycling kakis I used to hand out with everyday when I'm 7, to new friends I made recently in Cedar Rapids. Of course, especially to my bffs that made me laugh and smile all the time. You guys have made significant impact in my life, and I'll like to thank all of you today. Special thanks to my parents too! for making me, shaping me, and for making everything possible to me.

This is my forth year I have to work on my birthday. 1st time 5 years ago started as working in Mid Valley as Christian Dior perfume sales rep, I wasn't comfortable with it but I am now. Each year has been getting better and I certainly hope that I'll be earning bigger bucks same day next year. So here's my birthday wish for this year: I wish that work and life will only get better every year, for me and for all my loved ones.

Happy Birthday to me again!

*YAAAAAAAAM SING* Cheers!

Work is song this week. We're having a 6 sigma training for the whole week. To be short, 6 sigma training means free breakfast and lunch, no need to care about work performance, go home at 3pm, no need to wax hair, and chelseapeers. =)

Work starts, I'm moving out..

Tomorrow, June 1st 2009, marks the 1st day of my career after graduation. Though this job position only secures me until the end of this year, I'm pretty sure it won't stop there.

Very excited. Have been looking forward to it since I got the offer. Later today I'll be moving to Cedar Rapids, an industrial city exactly 100 miles east of Ames. Working life over there should be dull. I'll see what I can potentially do with the city's current capability. The best city in the States remains to be Ames, where all my friends are for the moment.

Life have been busy since I got back from Vegas. Spent a week helping Rachel settle down in Sioux City and her driving ability, which was very worth it. ANother week was spent in Ames. Most of the time were spent packing my room for moving out, getting rid of stuff, poker, chillaxing, and used car hunting. Too much poker makes me sick, I don't understand how my friends can play it so much more often than me.

While sorting out in my room I found a lot of interesting documents and stuff that reminsced a lot of memories in ISU. Those were priceless, buuuuuuuuuuut I decided to throw some of them away, after I took some pictures of them. Here are some of them~

Welcome to ISU! Please choose to pay by check, cash, or checking account.

Reached the States on the 11th of August 2006. That's almost 3 years ago. So many things have changed in me and the people around me. So much dramas, achievements, experiences, late night nonsense, snow, laughter, etc etc etc..

My temporary 9 digit University ID number.

1st seminar attended in ISU, the 4.0 guranteed seminar. Er..

The freddy court!

They took my wallet and put those inside.

This is my favorite! Our 1st official meeting minutes of the committee. Ahh those were really dam good times.

The MCN '08 lion dance performers'n list.

My last appearance in DubH ISU Hip Hop club. Those were good times too~

My 1st dance performance of DubH held in Fisher Theater! I still remember I danced to Justin Timberlake's Summer love and Beyonce's freakum dress~

A souvenir.

Don't know what happened to the top part of the paper.. kena syrup bandung maybe.
It's the dikir barat choreograph paper! I used to write or draw the steps out on papers just to make sure the sequence and beats were ok. Swim fly, fly swim~

More dikir barat..

The list of performers for dikir barat.

Good times desu ne. Honto ni. Back to pack pack..

The receptions

A quick post here!

I have graduated. Commencement took place yesterday afternoon. I am really very happy!

I attended all 3 graduation reception (International students, Industrial Engineering dept, and the general commencement). It'll be a mistake if I've missed either 1 of them.

Rachel hosted the international students graduation reception! Although I'm the only Malaysian to attend the event, I'm glad I did. I had to chance to speak on the podium, telling everyone how thankful I am for my loved ones. Glad to meet some of my international friends too!! Sad thing is, we had to say good bye..

For the Industrial Engineering dept reception, I gotta say it was very very professional and well organized. Again, I had the chance to speak on the podium, thanked the people I wanted to thank all the time, shared my future plans and some of my most memorable IE moments. Had a great time talking to my professors! Very nice gifts tooo.. All in all,  it's a very warm feeling hanging out with the IEs for the last time.

Spring 09 commencement: Awesome.
(I slept thru some of the speeches.. but.. still good!)

Parents are good over here. Still sleeps a lot.

I'm off to Vegas in a few hours!

Happy mothers day! And congratulation to all graduates!

More posts on graduation when I'm back!

Colorful feelings..

Optimistic for the critical exam on Monday.

Confident that Pinky can proceed to malaysian dreamgirl2's top 3 smoothly.

Satisfied after a meal of Bruegger's asiago parmesan bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese.

Guilty for sleeping too much today.

Very happy because my parents will be reaching Ames in less than 5 days!

Excited to attend the graduation ceremony.

Excited for the Vegas trip with my parents.

Excited for parts of the Vegas trip without my parents.

Sad because there's no more spring break for me.

Relieved because quizzes, assignments, group project, absent, and labs are history.

All in all,

it's a colorful season.

It's Spring. =)
